Latest Interior Design Reveal! Nautical Hotel

Step inside my latest interior design reveal today – a nautical-inspired functions room at The Beach Hotel, Newcastle.

The room is one in a series of interiors being unveiled throughout the coming months.

You may remember my other two functions level in shades of greige. Well, this basement level venue has a distinctly different feel.

Inspired by the existing colourful mosaic flooring left from previous reincarnations of the space, the colour palette mixes moody charcoal greys with natural sisal and a vibrant nautical red.

The entire mood is one of almost being below-deck on a ship, with a hedonistic feeling created with wine bottle storage and barrels throughout.

Rustic shutters are cut up and mixed together as a feature wall with a Mediterranean feel, even the weaved patio furniture suggests a timeless Italian fishing port.

Old sail cloth stamped with bright red numerals are up-cycled into cushions, alongside custom-coloured velvet versions of my ‘Cabin Boy’ textile pattern.

It took days of winding hundreds of metres of hefty rope around structural columns to give them a new nautical persona.

Scrapwood-lined shelves display curios of the sea, pulling together a delightful story and character to the space.

I’m thrilled with the result. Once again, just one more room with a different tale to tell in this mammoth interior design undertaking.

Tiles by Tim Neve – Full Debut Range

I’m ecstatic to finally be able to introduce my full debut range of tile designs.

Inspired by the quality of Moroccan tiles, my patterns have been transferred to a range of Encaustic Tiles.

You may remember the first design ‘Mermania’ in blue, released late last year – and recently unveiled in the new bathrooms at my interior design at The Beach Hotel.

It’s been a lengthy production process getting the range made, as they follow a hand-made process with pressed cement. The pieces have a lovely chalky, matt patina with patches of imperfections a part of their charm.

The three latest eye-catching designs have now landed in Australia. Perfect for creating a statement piece on the wall or floor in your next bathroom or kitchen!

Revealed: Bathrooms at Beach Hotel by Tim Neve

Happy New Year! I have so many exciting things to share for you in 2016.

First up, here’s another room in a series of interior reveals that are about to unfold in the coming months at the Beach Hotel, Newcastle.

Suitably beachy, these bathrooms look more like L.A. Pool Club change rooms, with shutter doors in grecian blue, and bikinis hanging from anchor-shaped hooks.

In the men’s bathrooms, a wall-sized urinal features my ‘Blueprint’ wallpaper design with drippy jellyfish really coming to life as water flows along the glass.

It’s also the first interior in the world to make use of my debut tile, Mermania in blue. Stay tuned for more cement tile designs to be released in the coming weeks too.

Introducing Tim’s first tile design ‘Mermania’

So excited to share with you my first tile design!

This is Mermania, the interpretation of my pattern as an encaustic cement tile in shades of aquatic blues.

Because they’re handmade each one has variations, like classic Moroccan tiles made in the same process.

The lovely matt finish is perfect for effortless bathroom floors or walls – or imagine a kitchen splashback!

This is just the first in four different designs landing in Australia by years end – so stay tuned.

Revealed! Tim Neve Interiors for the Beach Hotel, Merewether

Above, reality and below design concept.

Last year I worked with a #newcastle #icon The Beaches Hotel. Overlooking #merewether #beach, there couldn’t be a more perfect #timneve venue!

For phase one we gutted the top floor of its poky little #hotel rooms to create a whole #functions level, in shades of #greige with #panoramic views.

Finally I’ve got a #gallery of images to share with you. Step inside this beachy beauty…

And the best news? This is merely the entree my friends: stay tuned throughout what’s left of 2015 as I wave my style wand through the massive four public bars on the ground floor. I have a feeling this will be the place to be come #summer.

Tim Neve x Sparkk at Life in Style, Melbourne

Out of all the interiors trade events each year, Life in Style is a firm favourite of mine as it champions smaller, boutique Aussie designer brands.

So I was thrilled to be featured on the Sparkk stand at the annual Melbourne event.

Sparkk were promoting their cushions to retailers in particular, with exciting results that the Tim Neve ‘Anchorage’ collection has been picked up by many around Australia, so expect to see my cushions in a store near you soon!

My wallpaper and fabric designs were on display too, in fine company alongside Lisa Lapointe, Shibori, Bethany Linz and more…

Sparkk are known for their bold colour and pattern, as the stand display shows!
